IBIZA - CALA DE BOU - RESTAURANTE CAN PUJOL
RESTAURANTE CAN PUJOL We returned to Can Pujol in September 2025, after previously visiting during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, when all the restrictions were in place. It was great to see everything seemed to be back to normal. Can Pujol started as a small snack bar over thirty years ago and is now a no-frills restaurant serving superb seafood. Pan con alioli We had a few dishes we had not had in previous visits, and started with some zambariñas (scallops) Al

ANDALUCÍA - ALMERÍA - MOJÁCAR - CHIRINGUITO MANACA
CHIRINGUITO MANACA Drive past the Hotel Indalo on the road from Mojácar to Carboneras, go straight inland, and take a left at the third roundabout onto Playa Macenas, where you will see the Castillo de Macenas just before the Macenas golf course goes inland. From here, drive past Chiringuito Macenas (you can stop here for a drink or tapas) and onto an elementary dirt road, which is not in excellent condition and initially runs along a precarious cliff edge, overlooking the se

MALLORCA - PORT DE SÓLLER - RESTAURANT SES OLIVERES
SES OLIVERES A guest review from Siddu Amin. This beautiful terraced restaurant has a handful of tables outside the entrance, which may appeal to those wanting a closer look at the old wooden trams that descend from Sollér up in the hills. We arrived on Sunday afternoon, having tried and failed to book a table over the phone the previous day. There is no online booking option, so you’ll need to call or book in person. Thankfully, the manager squeezed us in on the day, and we

IBIZA - SANT JOSEP - JORDI DE SES SALINAS - CAN SALINAS MANUEL EL REY DE LA FIDEUÀ - POST 2
CAN SALINAS MANUEL EL REY DE LA FIDEUÀ To find this restaurant, head past the church on the way to Ses Salinas. It is on the left, just before the turnoff to Platja des Cavallet, just before Salinas Beach. This family-run restaurant serves excellent Valencian-style paella and fideuà away from the busy summer crowds of Ibiza. Fideuà is a dialectal pronunciation of the Valencian or Catalan word fideuada (which means a large number of noodles). It is a seafood dish originally fr

IBIZA - ES CUBELLS - CHIRINGUITO SES BOQUES
CHIRINGUITO SES BOQUES This rustic and authentic chiringuito has been located at the end of a long, steep road down from Es Cubells since the 1970s. It is set among pine trees and offers a complete view of a small pebble beach. To reach the restaurant, take the left turn before you reach Es Cubells church. Around a mile or so later, you will see it signposted on the left on the cliff road going down the hill. After a steep slope, you will reach the restaurant next to the sea.

IBIZA - SANT JOSEP - RESTAURANT CALA d'HORT (CA NA VERGERA)
RESTAURANT CALA d’HORT (CA NA VERGERA) This mythical restaurant is also known as Ca na Vergera (which is the nickname of the family that continues to own and work here). It is one of the last authentic places left in Ibiza’s south. In the late sixties, Joan Vergera acquired the restaurant's land and built a small hut where his wife could work. He went fishing with his llaüt (small Ibicencan fishing boat), the “Adolfo.” When he returned, his wife, Maria, cooked what he had bro

IBIZA - SANT JOSEP - CALA d'HORT - ES BOLDADO - POST 2
RESTAURANTE ES BOLDADO Michelin Plate IIO We returned to another favourite restaurant on our mid-March trip to Ibiza, Es Boldado. When driving from Sant Josep to Cala d’Hort, take the last right turn to Cala Truja; after about 3 km, you will see the sign for Es Boldado on your left. Turn on this road and drive down the dusty Camino (dirt track) for about 1.5km. You will see the best view of Ibiza. This is the restaurant for you if you want a view. Restaurante Es Boldado

IBIZA - SANT JOSEP - ES BOL NOU -- RESTAURANT SA CALETA
RESTAURANT SA CALETA We returned to our old favourite restaurant, Sa Caleta, during a spring trip to Ibiza. Fideruada (a seafood paella with pasta instead of rice) Combination tres tartas We had a refreshing bottle of Belondrade y Lurton (Rueda) 2016 to drink @ €50 To finish, we had

FORMENTERA - BAR RESTAURANTE EL MIRADOR
RESTAURANTE EL MIRADOR With almost the entire island stretched out before you, stunning panoramic views across Ibiza and Es Vedrá are in the distance. There is no more incredible view of Formentera than from the terrace here. Found high on a hilltop, this rustic restaurant and cafeteria is open in the morning for the early birds to take a coffee and an ensaïmada (a croissant-like pastry made with lard (pig fat), not butter). You can try their traditional food from 1 to 4 pm f
