IBIZA - SANT JOSEP - RESTAURANT CALA d'HORT (CA NA VERGERA)
RESTAURANT CALA d'HORT (CA NA VERGERA)

This mythical restaurant, also known as Ca na Vergera, the nickname of the family that continues to own and work here is one of the last authentic places left in the south of Ibiza.

In the late sixties, Joan Vergera acquired the land on which the restaurant now stands and built a small hut.

He went fishing with his llaüt (small boat) the "Adolfo" and on his return, his wife Maria cooked what he brought back.
The clientele was composed mainly of other fishermen from the area as tourism had not yet reached Cala d'Hort.
The beach, in fact, was so inaccessible by road that Joan had to bring supplies by sea. Eventually, the road came to Cala d’hort and Restaurant Ca na Vergera became very popular.

In the mid eighties, the restaurant expanded and became what it is today, with its privileged terrace overlooking the mysterious and mystical islets of Es Vedrá and Es Vedranell.

The eldest son of the couple manages the restaurant with his six brothers and sisters working in the kitchen, while other relatives and friends serve customers.

It is a simple place in a tropical paradise where fish and rice dishes are served in true Ibicencan style.
Local bread, olives and home made aioli.

Local Salad

The speciality of Ca na Vergera are oven baked fish and rice dishes.
Mixed paella

With Seafood.

Local Ibicencan gambas

The guisat de peix (fish stew) is also very tasty and on request, is cooked with rice a banda.
Many people come to breakfast between 10 and 12, and then enjoy the day at the beach

And wait for the sunset.
