IBIZA - ES CUBELLS - CHIRINGUITO SES BOQUES
CHIRINGUITO SES BOQUES

This place, at the end of a long steep road down from Es Cubells, has been a rustic and authentic chiringuito since the 1970's. It is set amongst pine trees in full view of a small pebble beach.

To reach the restaurant take the road on the left before you reach Es Cubells church.

Around a mile or so later, on the cliff road going down the hill you will see it signposted on the left. After a steep slope, you will reach the restaurant which is next to the sea.
There is parking, which can sometimes be difficult, during busy times. The restaurant has wooden tables and paper tablecloths for a meal of quality fish dishes without frills in a pristine environment.

The signature dish is la caldereta de langosta (lobster stew)

Also try:
Jamón Ibéroic de Bellota

Bullit de peix (A luscious Ibicencan fish stew-soup)
Mero (grouper)
San Pedro (John Dory)
Rape al la plancha (monkfish grilled on a hot plate)
Dorada al sal (gilthead bream cooked under a salt crust)
Gambas a la plancha (grilled prawns)
Also good paellas and rice dishes.

Home made lemon cake for dessert

Have this with a chilled white wine (verdejo from Rueda or albariño from Galicia) or one of their excellent Gin n Tonics. Also, try the owners home made hierbas (local liqueur made with herbs from Ibiza)

After your meal you can relax with a snooze on the free sunbeds, dotted around the pebble beach or, if you feel more energetic, go for a dip in the sparkling clear Mediterranean sea.

Giant paellas are available for events

Seafood is generally priced by the kg in Ibiza, which makes it not particularly cheap, so expect to budget around €70/80 per person. for a stunning meal with wine.
