DONOSTIA-SAN SEBASTIÁN - PARTE VIEJA - BAR KBZÓN TXIKI
BAR KBZÓN TXIKI On our June 2025 trip, we visited a bar in Old Town that was a first for us. They serve innovative dishes made with familiar ingredients and appear to use the sous vide method in their excellent cooking. We settled in and ordered a couple of glasses of txakoli and also tried the house red. We then picked a few pintxos from the interesting menu. Pulpo gallego con puré de boniato, salsa de tomates verdes y cebola morada encurtida con cilantro. Tender Galician oc

IBIZA - SANT ANTONI DE PORTMANY - LA JOSEFITA
LA JOSEFITA IBIZA La Josefita is a lovely little restaurant in the backstreets of Sant Antoni de Portmany (San Antonio), near the infamous West End, which is currently undergoing a massive transformation. This new tapas restaurant, opened in August, pays tribute to Grandma Pepita - Josefa Pepita. The Josefita offers a concise menu of reimagined, familiar tapas. We started with; Sabrasada con calamares bebés (a stunning sabrasada with deep-fried baby squid) Albóndigas (incredi

The chef, Begoña Aizmendi, offers a concise menu showcasing many of Sa Cova's essentials and a few of her new creations. On a warm evening, we sat outside and opened a

ASTURIAS - ARRIONDAS - CASA MARCIAL
CASA MARCAL Three Michelin Stars (New 2025) The drive to the restaurant, situated in the heart of the mountains, is via a narrow road through the beautiful Asturian countryside, and the views are amazing. Beware of the narrow winding roads where you must be careful of grazing cows and sheep. The restaurant's modest façade contrasts with its elegant stone interior, which features exposed wooden beams and a few contemporary decorative details. There is an attractive bar are

These dishes are delicious and surprisingly original. Our meal included, Tzatziki (cool & refreshing Greek yoghurt with cucum

MALLORCA - PALMA DE MALLORCA - VANDAL PALMA
VANDAL PALMA A guest review by Siddu Amin. We grabbed a seat near the open-plan kitchen at Vandal in Santa Catalina, where the menu reads like a map of the world with influences from South America, Asia and Europe. It's loud, so not the place for an intimate dinner, but it's fun. To start, we had, Gazpacho de puerros y patatas como pre-entrante (leek and potato gazpacho pre-starter). Followed by, Taco mexicano de pescado adobado con auténtica tortilla xólotl de maíz nixtamali

BASQUE COUNTRY - BILBAO - RESTAURANTE LASAI
RESTAURANTE LASAI Michelin Plate While we were in Bilbao, we went to Lasai for lunch. The entrance is in a basement down a side street, so it's not easy to find. Once inside, there is a lovely, relaxed vibe and a good atmosphere. The team behind this concept is Bilbao native and chef David Garcia, who holds one Michelin star for Corral de la Morería and serves as the gastronomic director here. The head chef is Igor Méndez. Once settled in, we chose the Crystal tasting menu

ANDALUCÍA - MÁLAGA - LA COSMO
LA COSMO Michelin Bib Gourmand La Cosma is the younger sibling of Dani Carnero's La Cosmopolita. It has a more modern vibe and setting, but still serves big-flavoured Andalucian cooking without any gimmicks. We enjoyed an excellent early dinner, sitting at the long bar looking into the open kitchen. We started with some excellent bread. Ostras (oysters) La Gilda atún, tomate, piparra y anchoa (a new take on the Gilda, the iconic pintxo inspired by actress Rita Hayworth, wi

BASQUE COUNTRYSIDE - VIZCAYA - ATXONDO - ASADOR ETXEBARRI
ASADOR ETXEBARRI One Michelin Star Although not the easiest place to find, this beautiful, rustic, restored stone house is a couple of kilometres out of town. It has a bar at the ground-floor entrance and a couple of stunning dining rooms on the first floor. The renowned chef Victor Arguinzoniz, who deserves his one Michelin star, cooks all the high-quality produce on various charcoal grills. There is no molecular stuff here; it is just fresh, quality food with unique fla
