ANDALUCÍA - MÁLAGA - ESTEPONA - A TOUR OF THE TRADITIONAL TAPAS BARS IN THE OLD TOWN
We wanted to explore the charming traditional tapas bars in Estepona’s old town and discover the great prices for a beer and a tapa! These bars play a vital role in preserving the authentic cultural atmosphere, and it’s essential that we cherish and maintain them for future generations. Our first stop was at BAR LA ESQUINITA Calle de Pozo Pila, 30, 29680 Estepona, Málaga A tiny bar with a warm welcome from Paco, the owner, this is one of the few remaining authentic tapas bars

ANDALUCÍA - MÁLAGA - ESTEPONA - LAS GITANILLAS - SEAFOOD
RESTAURANTE LAS GITANILLAS This restaurant, which we have visited several times, is located in a wonderful spot on a pedestrianised street in the heart of Estepona. The family have had a restaurant in Estepona since 1970. In 2004, Paco Bazán, son of Francisco Bazán Hormigo and María Peña Gil, who learned from a young age both behind and in front of the bar alongside his parents, opened Las Gitanillas (which is Spanish for the little gypsy girls). Paco’s daughter, Gema Bazán (

RESTAURANTE LA ESCOLLERA La Escollera has been in Puerto de Estepona since 1940. The long-standing harbour-side restaurant, with a large terrace, is one of the best places to enjoy stunning, fresh seafood in Estepona. The restaurant is old school and not fancy. There is an extensive menu featuring freshly caught, local fish, right from the fish market. Fresh fish arrives from the sea in the morning, and you can enjoy it at your table for lunch or dinner within hours. You will

There is plenty of seating outside for the warmer months, and in the winter, you will find plenty of indoor seating, with a large gazebo attached to the restaurant. The restaurant is run by Miquel & his sister, who oversee all the staff & they are exceptional hosts. The food is always good, with a variety of fresh f

CHIRINGUITO PACO If you’re seeking fresh seafood and a variety of fish, this authentic Spanish beach bar on the beach in Estepona, established in 1997, is an excellent choice. Once settled in, we had some excellent espeto de sardinas (sardines skewered and cooked over hot coals). Conchas Finas (local Málaga smooth clams). Coquinas al ajillo y vino blanco (small flat clams from Huelva, with garlic and white wine). The venue offers both indoor and outdoor seating. We then had t

CHIRINGUITO EL MADERO If you are looking for fresh seafood and a wide range of fish and rice dishes on the beach in Estepona, this chiringuito in a beautiful location is a great place for a meal and a drink . It is a great spot to relax, sitting outside overlooking the beach and the sea. What you will find here is fish, fish, fish, seafood, all of it in extraordinary freshness and quality.
