ANDALUCÍA - CÁDIZ - EL PUERTO DE SANT MARÍA - APONIENTE - VISIT 3
APONIENTE Three Michelin Stars A return visit to the Angel León restaurant, Aponiente, renowned for its cuisine of the sea and exclusively seafood. After relocating from its previous site in the centre of El Puerto de Santa María, the new and much more glamorous restaurant is situated just outside of town in what was once an old flour mill built in 1815. A small river or stream flows beneath the current building, and the energy it produced for the mill was used to grind

IBIZA - ES CUBELLS - CHIRINGUITO SES BOQUES
CHIRINGUITO SES BOQUES This rustic and authentic chiringuito is located at the end of a long, steep road descending from the little village of Es Cubells since 1974. It is nestled among pine trees and offers a complete view of a small pebble beach. To get to the restaurant, take a left turn just before you reach the Es Cubells church. After around a mile, you will see the sign for the restaurant on the left-hand side of the cliff road as you go down the hill. After a steep de

MALLORCA - RESTAURANT ES PORT DE VALLDEMOSSA
RESTAURANT ES PORT DE VALLDEMOSSA Our friend Siddu Amin recently returned to Mallorca, and we had lunch at an off-the-beaten-path fish restaurant in Port de Valldemossa that has been operating since 1969. It has gained popularity among those willing to make the effort to visit. With its old-fashioned charm and warm, inviting atmosphere, it becomes particularly busy with tourists during lunchtime. Driving to the hard-to-reach beach and port at Port de Valldemossa requires nerv

IBIZA - SANTA EULÁRIA DES RIU - LA CHISMOSA CHIRINGUITO CALA OLIVERA
LA CHISMOSA CHIRINGUITO CALA OLIVERA We returned to Cala Olivera to visit the new beach bar, La Chismosa Chiringuito Cala Olivera, which has replaced the previous Hydrogen beach bar that, unfortunately, we did not particularly like. On first impression, La Chismosa Chiringuito Cala Olivera appears much better. It is situated on a stunning little bay that features white sands and overhanging cliffs, providing much-needed shade during the summer months. The crystal-clear water

IBIZA - SANT CARLES DE PERALTA - EL BIGOTES
EL BIGOTES The Fish Shack at Cala Mastella is also known as El Bigotes, which translates to “The Moustache” a nod to the proprietor’s distinctive whiskers. El Bigotes will be remembered for sitting at his table every lunchtime while enjoying a flagon of his favourite red wine with his fish and rice. Sadly, he passed away in 2025 at nearly 100 years old. His funeral was massive on the island, with everyone paying their respects. Rest in peace, El Bigotes, and thank you for you

IBIZA - SANT JOSEP - CALA d'HORT - ES VEDRÀ - ES BOLDADO - POST 2
RESTAURANTE ES BOLDADO Michelin Guide We visited one of our favourite restaurants, Es Boldado, during our mid-March trip to Ibiza. To get there from Sant Josep to Cala d’Hort, take the last right turn toward Cala Truja. After about 3 kilometres, you’ll see the sign for Es Boldado on the left. Turn onto this road and drive down the dusty Camino (dirt track) for approximately 1.5 kilometres. You will be treated to the best view of Ibiza. If you’re looking for a restaurant wi

LONDON - SOUTH KENSINGTON - CAMBIO DE TERCIO
CAMBIO DE TERCIO Under the excellent hospitality and guidance of Abel Lusa, Cambio de Tercio has been a long-standing favourite in South Kensington. It has become a leading representative of Iberian cuisine in London. Most fans of Hispanic culture consider it one of the best in the city. On this occasion, we will begin with a glass of amontillado sherry. Followed by pan cristal y cinco jotas de jamón ibérico de bellota 100% (Jabugo). 5 Jotas hand-carved, 36 months old, acorn-

IBIZA - CHIRINGUITO AND BEACH BAR SEASON IS OPEN
IBIZA’S FAMOUS CHIRINGUITOS HAVE STARTED TO OPEN AROUND THE ISLAND. Sunbeds and plastic chairs suddenly appear. Wooden tables are dragged across sand that sat empty all winter, and music quietly drifts across the empty sand out to sea. CLICK HERE TO SEE A FEW OF THE CHIRINGUITOS DOTTED AROUND THE ISLAND And just like that, after months of silence and closed shutters, the chiringuito is open again. Where does the word actually come from, and it’s not Spain; Chiringuitos d

ANDALUSIA - CÁDIZ CITY - VENTORRILLO DEL CHATO - ATÚN
RESTAURANTE VENTORRILLO DEL CHATO This restaurant is a beautiful historic Goya-esque 18th-century roadhouse, situated near the beach dunes, an oasis in the heart of a desert strip. Jose Manuel Cordoba makes magic with fish here. We come here for the Tortillitas de Camarones (shrimp fritters). The ones here are larger but also incredibly crispy, with more batter edges and significantly more shrimp than any others we had. They are great with a cold fino sherry. Other excellen

ANDALUSIA - CÁDIZ - SANLÚCAR DE BARRAMEDA - CASA BIGOTE - LANGOSTINOS
CASA BIGOTE Michelin Bib Gourmand It was in 1951 when a local sailor, Fernando Hermoso, opened a despacho de Vinos selling manzanilla to fishermen. Fernando grew an Errol Flynn-style moustache, and his friends started calling him “El Bigote”. Manzanilla, a salty, extremely dry sherry (the salt comes from the local bodegas’ proximity to the sea air), originates from Sanlúcar de Barrameda, and you will still find it on almost every table. In 1970, Fernando Jr. took over t
