IBIZA - SANTA GERTRUDIS - BAR COSTA
BAR CAN COSTA For the cheaper pocket, head to Bar Costa in Santa Gertrudis de Fruitera, a pretty and well-loved little village in the centre of the island. There are many restaurants set around the village church in this lovely spot with a vibrant hippy feel. It’s a great place to live, a few hours away from the interesting little shops, nooks, and crannies. Most Sundays, there is a church procession, with locals and tourists attending the Sunday service. There are many inter

IBIZA - SANT AGUSTÍ DES VEDRÀ - SA SOCA
RESTAURANTE SA SOCA On the way to Sant Agustí from Sant Antoni, you will find this traditional, rustic, charming restaurant. Although it does not look exceptional from the outside, it would be easy to drive past. The entrance has a small bar area, with simple wooden chairs and tables, and small dining rooms with a fireplace. Once inside, you will find its large, vine-covered inner terrace, overgrown with plants, and a quiet countryside landscape twinkling in the background. T

IBIZA - SANT RAFEL DE SA CRUE - ASADOR CAN PILOT
ASADOR CAN PILOT We returned to Restaurante Asador Can Pilot, an old favourite in the small inland village of Sant Rafel de sa Creu (San Rafael). Since 1989, it has been an excellent place for traditional Spanish food, especially BBQ meat. The traditional, rustic restaurant is always busy, and sometimes you may have to wait in the vibrant bar. There is a large BBQ grill in one corner of the room. The room is furnished with traditional Ibicencan wooden tables and chairs. We ha

You will be taken to a link for further information if you click on the people or places highlighted in RED . It was a perfect day. Bernadette and I drove to the ferry and boarded an 8 am boat to Ibiza. We landed at the old familiar dock and went down the street to Mar y Sol Café. Since opening in the twenties, this has been the spot to grab a good coffee and breakfast, watch people, and meet people. “Meet you at Mar y Sol” is the standard reply for a discreet or otherwise

A DAY & NIGHT OF FOOD & ADVENTURE IN IBIZA WITH RENOIR GUIDES TOUR 2
After meeting Jonathon Lipsin and Bernadette Mundy on Facebook through our shared love of Ibiza, Formentera, and music, I invited them to Ibiza each year for a day-long tour of the Island, with food, fun, and frolics. This was to be our second trip. After their short sea trip from Formentera, we met at our usual meeting place outside the Café Mar y Sol in Ibiza Town. This time, my friends from London, Danny and Pankaj, joined us. Once settled in our hire car, I gave them a

IBIZA - SANT ANTONI DE PORTMANY - SA CAPELLA
SA CAPELLA UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2024 Like quite a few venues in San Antonio, Sa Capella has been taken over by Grupo Mambo. It is still a fantastic venue, but now trendy Boho rather than Monks in Robes style. The menu has changed and is much more expensive, including the wine list, so if you want to go, check the menu before you go. The food is much more international now than Ibicencan. For example, Australian wagyu costs €41 for 100g, and the cheapest bottle of wine is €70—Vega
