MALLORCA - PORT DE SÓLLER - RESTAURANT SES OLIVERES
SES OLIVERES A guest review from Siddu Amin. This beautiful terraced restaurant has a handful of tables outside the entrance, which may appeal to those wanting a closer look at the old wooden trams that descend from Sollér up in the hills. We arrived on Sunday afternoon, having tried and failed to book a table over the phone the previous day. There is no online booking option, so you’ll need to call or book in person. Thankfully, the manager squeezed us in on the day, and we

IBIZA - ES CUBELLS - CHIRINGUITO SES BOQUES
CHIRINGUITO SES BOQUES This rustic and authentic chiringuito has been located at the end of a long, steep road down from Es Cubells since the 1970s. It is set among pine trees and offers a complete view of a small pebble beach. To reach the restaurant, take the left turn before you reach Es Cubells church. Around a mile or so later, you will see it signposted on the left on the cliff road going down the hill. After a steep slope, you will reach the restaurant next to the sea.

IBIZA - CALA TALAMANCA - THE FISH SHACK
THE FISH SHACK @ TALAMANCA Also known as Chiringuito Sa Punta, a tiny shack on the rocks perched delicately at the sea’s edge at the very end of Talamanca beach, this is hard to find, as there are no signposts or a roof. This is one spot you don’t often read about, making it all the more special. Head for the restaurant Sa Punta in Talamanca, and when you reach it, keep going past the rocks. Soon, you will see the tangle of umbrella canopies, wooden tables and plastic chairs.

ANDALUCÍA - MÁLAGA - PEDREGALEJO - RESTAURANTE EL CALEÑO
RESTAURANTE EL CALEÑO We returned to the still-very-traditional village of Pedregalejo, just outside of Malaga. This village has kept its local character and charm and has not been ruined by tourism. The beaches here are divided into small U-shaped coves, perfect for families with young children. This old fishing village is now known for its excellent fish restaurants, which line the promenade next to the beach. In the warm summer months, sometimes during pleasant days in win

BASQUE COUNTRYSIDE - GETARIA - KAIA-KAIPE - POST 2
I RESTAURANTE KAIA-KAIPE Michelin Plate IIO We returned to the fishing port of Getaria on the Basque Coast and revisited an old favourite, the excellent Restaurante Kaia-Kaipe. Getaria is the picture-postcard image of a Basque Country fishing village. Walking up from the car park, we approached the village. When you reach the restaurant, you can see the famous outdoor grill, where the fish is cooked over hot coals on open wire-mesh grills. The restaurant is divided into

IBIZA - SANT CARLES - KIOSKU CALA MASTELLA
KIOSKU CALA MASTELLA This beach bar on the island’s northeast is a local insider tip among Ibiza’s chiringuito lovers. It is sometimes unfavourably compared to the legendary fish restaurant El Bigotes, which sits to the left in the same bay. This is entirely unjustified, although it works on a different concept. Pepe Bonet and Angel Pins have created a true oasis of calm here and created honest, perfectly prepared food. They have six dishes (fresh fish, of course, hamburgers,

GALICIA - SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA - TABERNA ABASTOS 2.0
TABERNA ABASTOS 2.0 Michelin Bib Gourmand We have been to this excellent restaurant a few times before. It is located in the town’s farmers’ market, giving it access to fresh ingredients daily. They announce proudly that they do not have a fridge in the restaurant. This unique restaurant is a surprise. It occupies six small market stalls, which have been given a bright, modern facelift. To enjoy the personalised menus here, you must book the only table in advance. We ha

IBIZA - CALA d'HORT - ES BOLDADO - POST 2
RESTAURANTE ES BOLDADO Michelin Plate IIO We returned to another favourite restaurant on our mid-March trip to Ibiza, Es Boldado. When driving from Sant Josep to Cala d’Hort, take the last right turn to Cala Truja; after about 3 km, you will see the sign for Es Boldado on your left. Turn on this road and drive down the dusty Camino (dirt track) for about 1.5km. You will see the best view of Ibiza. This is the restaurant for you if you want a view. Restaurante Es Boldado

FORMENTERA - ES CALÓ DE SANT AGUSTI - CAN RAFALET
Restaurant CAN RAFALET After a few years away, we returned to Restaurante Can Rafalet, in Es Caló de Sant Agustí, on the Island of Formentera, which boasts some of the most stunning views in the Balearic Islands. The sea is at its fabulous best here, and from our reserved front table, we could see it in all its stunning turquoise glory. When you sit down, you receive a delicious bowl of aioli (rich with garlic) and olives, along with a basket of crusty rolls to scoop up the g
