IBIZA - CALA TALAMANCA - THE FISH SHACK
THE FISH SHACK @ TALAMANCA

This is one spot that you don’t read about everywhere, which makes it all the more special. Head for Restaurant Sa Punta in Cala Talamanca, and when you reach it, keep going past over the rocks.

Soon you will see the tangle of umbrella canopies, wooden tables and plastic chairs.

A simple, typically Spanish chiringuito, perched on the rocks over looking the bay towards ibiza Town (Eivissa) and the Dalt Vila which has been run by the same family since 1979.

This places serves up delightfully simple fish dishes like:
Dorada (gilthead bream)
Lubina (sea bass)Sardines (sardines)

Boquerones fritas (fresh fried anchovies)
Pez espada (swordfish)
Salmonetes (red mullet)
Sepia /calamare (cuttlefish / squid)

Gambas rojo Ibicencan (red ibicencan prawns)

All served with boiled potatoes coated in olive oil and a simple tomato salad.
Atún (tuna)

Some meat dishes are also available but you are really here for the fish.

It is a buzzing, friendly atmosphere.

There is no pretentiousness here..

Finish with the local favourite café caleta (a flaming hot coffee, infused with local liqueurs, spices & orange peel.

If you feel adventurous you can have a dip in the sea via the swimming pool ladder fixed to the rocks

or just sit and relax with a class of wine or a beer as the sun goes down over the Dalt Vila of Ibiza Town and the twinkling evening lights come on to end a magical day.

There seems to be no website, no address, no name and no telephone number, the mainly locals and in the knows who frequent it obviously want to keep it a secret.
The Fish Shack is only open in the summer months and is taken down for the winter leaving no trace of it being there until the next summer!
