RESTAURANT CAN VICENT POR PEDRO Y MARI

When you arrive at Cala Carbó, in the south west of the island, you will come across Can Vicent.
Can Vicent is a traditional Ibizan family restaurant, typical of the island’s old hospitality culture. It began as a family-run simple chiringuito, serving fishermen, locals, and early visitors. Pedro y Mari” refers to the family members who later ran it.

The restaurant's history spans several decades, evolving gradually like many of Ibiza’s beach restaurants. You will find it in a perfect spot, overlooking the small pebble beach.

It’s a fantastic spot for a relaxing lunch, right on the beach with a serene, authentic Ibiza ambience. The seafood is incredibly fresh, simple, local, and absolutely delicious.
We settled in and began with the ubiquitous pan con alioli y aceitunas, which is bread served with olives and a local garlic sauce. In Catalan, ali means garlic and oli means oil, so alioli literally translates to garlic and oil.

Anchoas del Cantábrico.

Fabulous high-quality Cantabrian anchovies with freshly pulped tomato and local bread.

Calamares salteados (tender pieces of squid, sautéed in a pan with olive oil, garlic, guindilla chilli, parsley and a splash of white wine).

Arroz negro

Black rice, a classic local rice dish made with squid ink (giving it its signature deep black colour), squid, cuttlefish or, in this case, also crab legs.

This adds a slightly briny, rich umami flavour; it is always served with a few spoonfuls of alioli.

Because we were driving, we only had a couple of shandy’s, but there is an excellent wine list.

Also on the menu you will find staples like,
Jamón Ibérico de Bellota
Gambas al ajillo (garlic prawns)
Paella de marisco (seafood paella)
Mero entero al horno (oven-baked grouper)
Bullit del peix ( a two-course fish stew served with arroz a banda)
Local desserts greixonera and flaó.
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with friendly service that makes you feel at home from the moment you arrive. It truly is a hidden gem.
After your meal, you can have a relaxing sunbath or swim in the stunning, family friendly bay.

The incredible location allows you to climb a few rocks to enjoy the breathtaking sunset over the enchanting islet of Es Vedrà. This iconic and mysterious landmark in Ibiza is a dramatic rocky island that rises majestically from the sea. After watching the sunset, you can return and have one last drink on the beach.
