ANDALUCÍA - CÁDIZ - CONIL DE LA FRONTERA - RESTAURANTE TXIKOTE

RESTAURANTE TXIKOTE (Permanently closed 2022) This very good restaurant, set up near the old town of Conil de la Frontera, is Basque in origin and has a wine bar restaurant appeal with solid wood tables and chairs.

There is a bar in the centre of the room, serving various excellent wines that you can drink by the glass in very pleasant rustic yet modern décor in a light and lively setting.

They are also outside tables where you can enjoy the nearly always ever-present sunshine.

The menu is large with many tapas and regular-size dishes to choose from, which range from fish (tuna of course)

Almejas en una salsa picante con queso cremoso. Clams in a creamy cheesy spicy sauce - €15.

Carabinero con pasta kataifi sobre aroma de foie y pensamiento.

Big scarlet carabinero prawn with pasta kataifi on a of scent of foie - €4.50.

Txipirones en sur tinta Small squid in their own ink - €12

Foie a la plancha can compota de manzana. Griddled foie with apple compote - €6.80.

Cochinillo asada a baja temperatura. Suckling pig roasted at a low temperature - €6)

Service is friendly and efficient.

The bill for 4 at lunchtime with an excellent verdejo and 3 beers (€1.50 each) came to €91.40

The menu is only available in Spanish and they do not serve coffee.
