ANDALUCÍA- MÁLAGA - ESTEPONA - RESTAURANTE ALMA DE MIGUEL
RESTAURANTE ALMA DE MIGUEL We eat at this restaurant quite often; it is predominantly a fish restaurant, located in the pedestrian centre of Estepona's old town. There is plenty of seating outside for the warmer months, and in the winter, you will find plenty of indoor seating, with a large gazebo attached to the restaurant. The restaurant is run by Miquel & his sister, who oversee all the staff & they are exceptional hosts. The food is always good, with a variety of fresh f

IBIZA - SANT ANTONI DE PORTMANY - ARAGMA
ARAGMA IBIZA We visited Aragma Ibiza, the sister restaurant of Tapas in Sant Antoni de Portmany, and we were very impressed. The restaurant is set in a great spot overlooking the Marina. It is led by a talented Greek head chef who serves authentic, homemade, Greek-inspired shared-dining dishes of sublime quality, crafted with the freshest ingredients. These dishes are delicious and surprisingly original. Our meal included, Tzatziki (cool & refreshing Greek yoghurt with cucum

IBIZA - SANT MIQUEL DE BALANSAT - PAS DE S’ILLA DES BOSC - CHIRINGUITO SA FERRADURA (EL PIRATA)
CHIRINGUITO SA FERRADURA (EL PIRATA) To find this great little Kiosk and beach, turn left at the sign for the Hacienda Na Xamena Hotel and Spa on the way down to Port de Sant Miquel Road (before you reach the port). At around halfway, you must take the right-hand fork turn and drive for approximately 2 km along a quite testing, bumpy Camino (un-tarmacked road) to arrive at the bay. The Kiosk with the pirate flag is situated on the beach and serves good-value meat dishes, fish

ENGLAND - DEVON - ILFRACOMBE - THE TERRACE TAPAS & WINE BAR
THE TERRACE TAPAS & WINE BAR During our brief visit to Ilfracombe, we tried what I believe is the only Spanish restaurant in town. We were served surprisingly good tapas, which was somewhat unexpected in North Devon. Clive Chilcott runs the Terrace Tapas & Wine Bar alongside his partner, Dawn Mullen, who is the excellent chef. Together, they have owned this restaurant since 2016, striving to bring a little piece of sunny Spain to Ilfracombe and North Devon. It seems they hav

MALLORCA - PORT DE SÓLLER - RESTAURANT SES OLIVERES
SES OLIVERES A guest review from Siddu Amin. This beautiful terraced restaurant has a handful of tables outside the entrance, which may appeal to those wanting a closer look at the old wooden trams that descend from Sollér up in the hills. We arrived on Sunday afternoon, having tried and failed to book a table over the phone the previous day. There is no online booking option, so you’ll need to call or book in person. Thankfully, the manager squeezed us in on the day, and we

BASQUE COUNTRYSIDE - TOLOSA - CASA JULIAN - 2
CASA JULIAN In March 2025, we returned to this remarkable, easy-to-miss little restaurant, now famous on TV, in the Basque countryside town of Tolosa, 28 km inland from San Sebastián. Tolosa is a town and municipality in the Basque province of Gipuzkoa in northern Spain . It is located in the valley of the Oria River , and Casa Julian is directly across from the river. Once you find the restaurant and walk in, you might think you are in the wrong place. You will see an are

ALICANTE CITY - RESTAURANTE NOU MANOLÍN
NOU MANOLÍN Michelin Plate IIO This well-known spot in Alicante’s city centre has two distinct areas. Upstairs is a chic destination restaurant serving consistently excellent, creative seafood dishes. Downstairs, you will find a casual, come-as-you-are type of bar. We r ecommend sitting at the bustling bar counter on the first floor. (It is wise to turn up when they open the doors in the evening. We started with good ostras (oysters), then buñuelos de bacalao (deep-frie

GALICIA - SANTIAGO DA COMPOSTELA - O CURRO DE PARRA
O CURRO DA PARRA This restaurant is in the old part of town in the historic city of Santiago de Compostela. It is very close to the old market, the Mercado de Abastos de Santiago (from which they stock daily). This trendy and contemporary restaurant has two areas. A casual wine and tapas bar on the ground floor And a more formal, small but cosy dining room on the first floor of this old house The open kitchen offers a new take on Galician dishes. When the weather permits, a s

IBIZA - CALA TALAMANCA - THE FISH SHACK
THE FISH SHACK @ TALAMANCA Also known as Chiringuito Sa Punta, a tiny shack on the rocks perched delicately at the sea’s edge at the very end of Talamanca beach, this is hard to find, as there are no signposts or a roof. This is one spot you don’t often read about, making it all the more special. Head for the restaurant Sa Punta in Talamanca, and when you reach it, keep going past the rocks. Soon, you will see the tangle of umbrella canopies, wooden tables and plastic chairs.
