BAR KBZÓN TXIKI
On our June 2025 trip, we visited a bar in the Old Town that was a first-time visit for us.

They serve innovative dishes using familiar products and appear to be utilising the sous vide method in their excellent cooking.

We settled in and ordered a couple of glasses of txakoli and also tried the house red. We then picked a few pintxos from the interesting menu.
Pulpo Galicia con puré de boniato, salsa de tomates verdes y cebola morada encurtida en cilantro.

Tender Galician octopus, accompanied by creamy sweet potato purée, a tangy green tomato sauce, and coriander-pickled red onions (€7).

Cuscús de txangurro a la donostiarra y mantequilla.

San Sebastian-style spider crab couscous with butter. It seems strange no one I know of has thought of this combination before (€7).

Ravioli de bacalao a la bras, y yema de huevo.

Grilled cod ravioli with egg yolk (€4.40).

Costilla Euskal Txerri a baja temperatura durante 24h, tximitxurri y crema de cacahuete salado.

Basque pork ribs, slow-cooked (24 hours), tximitxurri, and peanut butter, tender and full of flavour (€6).

There are a few more excellent dishes on the small menu, which I am sure are just as good.

The roots of Basque, Caribbean, and South American cultures are mixed together in this little gem of a bar. Everything was excellent, and the service from the front-of-house guy from Ecuador was very friendly, super chilled, and lots of fun.
