If you’re seeking fresh seafood and a variety of fish, this authentic Spanish beach bar on the beach in Estepona, established in 1997, is an excellent choice and a place to start.

Once settled in, we had some espeto de sardinas (sardines skewered and cooked over hot coals).

Tortillitas de camarones (the famous lightly battered, thin, crisp shrimp fritters).

Conchas Finas (local Málaga smooth clams).

Coquinas al ajillo y vino blanco (small flat clams from Huelva, with garlic and white wine).

Calamares fritos (fried squid rings).

The venue offers both indoor and outdoor seating.

We then had the house special, cazuela de rape con langostinos (monkfish casserole with prawns).

And a stunning lenguado a la parrilla (grilled sole).

Dorada entera frita (whole, fresh gilt-head sea bream, lightly coated in flour and deep-fried until it is golden and crisp. Served with potatoes).

All the food was accompanied by an excellent Albariño from Rías Baixas in Galicia.

All the food is affordably priced for such a setting with great views. The staff are friendly and helpful without being intrusive.

You can rent sun loungers with thick mattresses to relax on after lunch.

To avoid potential wait times for tables, I recommend making a reservation.

Open all day: Monday to Sunday 10.00 - 21.00
