I've walked past S-Mari Cocina Bar countless times, thinking it was just another hostal with a bar. I even had breakfast there once, ages ago. But a friend recommended it for dinner, and I decided to give it another shot. To my surprise, it turned out to be a classy and welcoming local Restaurant. It's a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle of central San Antonio.
Breakfast Bliss

Every morning, they offer a fantastic breakfast selection. If you're craving a traditional English breakfast, you're in luck! They've got you covered.

Evening Delights

We settled in and explored their reasonably priced aperitivos and cocktail list. I couldn't resist trying a yummy Negroni (€6.50) and a glass of Prado Rey Roble from Ribera de Duero (€4.90).

Tasty Starters
We started with some classic pan, aceitunas y alioli (bread, olives, and alioli). It's a simple yet delightful way to kick off the meal.

Next up were the homemade aubergine-and-cheese croquetas. They were crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside—absolutely delicious!

Main Course Marvels
For the main course, I opted for the brioche de rabo de toro (oxtail stuffed brioche). It was rich and satisfying, a true testament to the chef's skill.

My dining companion chose the cochinillo deshusa (boneless suckling pig). Braised in beer with pears, garlic, honey, and rosemary, it was excellent.

And then came the pièce de résistance: a stunning tarta tatin de higos con helado de canela (fig tart tatin with cinnamon ice cream). Honestly, it's worth visiting just for this dessert!

Throughout our visit, we enjoyed friendly and informative service. The atmosphere was buzzing, making our experience even more enjoyable.
