RESTAURANTE CAN PUJOL

We returned to Can Pujol in September 2025, after previously visiting during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, when all the restrictions were in place. It was great to see everything seemed to be back to normal. Can Pujol started as a small snack bar over thirty years ago and is now a no-frills restaurant serving superb seafood.

Pan con alioli

We had a few dishes we had not had in previous visits, and started with some zambariñas (scallops)

Almejas Marinera (clams in fishermen's sauce).

Parrillada mixta de pescado (mixed fish grill).

Paella de langosta.

Lobster paella.

Bullit de peix (which comes in two parts, stewed rock fish with saffron and

arroz a banda.

Made with the liquid from the fish stew.

All the tables overlook the sea, apart from a couple near the kitchen.

It is quite a romantic restaurant.

We had flaó for dessert. A traditional Ibicencan cheesecake, made with a pastry base and a filling of fresh goat and sheep cheeses, eggs, sugar, and fresh mint and anise.

The food was excellent, as expected. To finish the meal, we were served a considerable amount of Carlos I brandy, which left us a little sleepy later in the afternoon. All the seafood dishes are based on traditional Ibicencan recipes. However, be aware that no meat is served here.
The following review is from our 2020 visit, when Covid-19 was in full swing!

There is an open kitchen that lets you see all the chefs at work.

You can choose your lobster from the live tank.

You must try el bullit de peix con arroz a banda de Can Pujol, the house classic.

The dish has two courses. The first is soup-like and made with local rockfish in a saffron broth.

Followed by arroz a banda. A paella-like rice dish made with the fish stock from the first course, plus small cuttlefish pieces.

All the local dishes, such as paella and fideuà, as well as whiskey lobster (another house classic), are available. A large fish dish, baked in the oven, to share would be another excellent choice.
Local desserts and wine are available and reasonably priced. The service was friendly and helpful, especially considering the need to wear a mask for Covid protection in these times.

Most tables are on the outside terrace, overlooking the stunning Sant Antoni bay.

It is also a great spot to sit and enjoy one of the famous Ibizan sunsets while devouring fabulous seafood and wine.

Closed on Wednesday.
