AIRE GASTROBAR Michelin Guide
A return to Aire Gastrobar.

This longstanding favourite in Málaga City is ideally located in the heart of town, just a short walk from the Bullring (Plaza de Toros).

After settling in, we began with Jamón ibérico de castaña-bellota from the Genal Valley in Ronda (this luxurious, melt-in-your-mouth Iberian ham comes from pigs fed on chestnuts and acorns).

Croquetas de gambas al pil-pil con emulsión de sus cabezas (prawn croquettes in pil-pil sauce with an emulsion made from the prawns’ heads).

Solomillo de ternera con patatas y salsa de miel de caña de Frigiliana (Beef tenderloin served with potatoes and a Frigiliana sugarcane honey sauce. This sauce is a well-known sweet, dark syrup from the village of Frigiliana in the province of Málaga).
It is not bee honey; rather, it is a thick syrup made from sugarcane molasses, created by boiling down sugarcane juice. Historically, there were sugarcane factories along the coast.

For dessert, tarta de queso caramelo salado, almendra, moscatel (Andalusian salted caramel cheesecake topped with almond crumble and served with Moscatel wine).

The interior is modern and chic—elegant yet comfortable. The restaurant offers creative interpretations of classic Andalusian dishes, especially those from Málaga.
The wonderful host beautifully presents each dish. This place comes highly recommended if you’re seeking a refined yet reasonably priced meal in a central location.
The review below was from a previous visit.

An attractive, trendy restaurant on two levels, Gastrobar (terrazzo y plata baja) with seating area downstairs and a more formal restaurant dining room (planta alta) upstairs.

The dishes offered are very elaborate, refined and tasty, a new take and modern interpretation of Andalucian food.
You can start with snacks, like the excellent ones.
Croquetas baby de choco con alioli de ajos asados (baby squid croquettes with roasted garlic alioli)

Samosa de calabacita dulce y avellanas con puré de manzana y canela (samosa of sweet onions and hazelnuts with apple and cinnamon sauce)

Rollitos craniates de langostinos con hierbabuena y soja (crispy rolls of king prawn with mint & soy)

Nuestra Trilogía de hamburguesas 100% vacuno (Trilogy of 100% beef hamburgers)

All the main courses we saw looked excellent. Everything was visually stunning, featuring a great mix of flavours. The restaurant offered a varied, reasonably sized modern Spanish wine list that began with affordable options. We experienced friendly and attentive service with a smile.

Over the years, I have developed a strong interest in destinations that combine beautiful scenery with meaningful cultural experiences. Morocco has always been on my list because of its diversity, and I was especially curious about the mountain regions after hearing stories from friends who had visited them. While searching for more information, I found Sun Trails Atlas hikes and enjoyed reading about the different ways travelers explore the Atlas Mountains. What attracts me most to hiking is the feeling of disconnecting from everyday routines and appreciating places at a slower pace. Walking through valleys, observing traditional villages, and spending time surrounded by nature creates a completely different perspective. In many ways, these kinds of experiences stay with you much longer…
