EL CELLER DE CAN ROCA Three Michelin Stars
The second part of the 2009 trip to Catalunya was to the Roca brothers' restaurant in Girona, which has been ranked number one in the world on a few occasions.

El Celler de Can Roca is a restaurant in Girona, Catalonia, Spain, which was opened in 1986 by the Roca brothers, Joan, Josep, and Jordi. It was first located next to their parents' restaurant Can Roca, but moved to its current purpose-built building in 2007. It has been received warmly by critics and currently holds three Michelin stars.

The restaurant was awarded its first Michelin star in 1995, its second in 2002, and three-star status in 2009, which it still holds today.

In 2013, it was named the best restaurant in the world by Restaurant magazine, after ranking second in 2011 and 2012. In 2014, it was named the second-best restaurant in the world. In 2015, it was once again named the best restaurant in the world by the magazine Restaurant.
