IBIZA - RESTAURANTE AMA LUR

RESTAURANTE AMA LUR

On the way from Eivissa to Santa Gertrudis de Fruitera, for those who wish to dress up in a sophisticated atmosphere, a night out at Restaurnate Ama Lur (this means "Mother Earth" in Basque) is a must.

Once you enter the restaurant you will be embraced by Basque decorations for the interior with sophisticated Mediterranean accents, who are simple but it also says that the place is delicate.

The two dining rooms and the romantic garden, are decorated in the same style and most of the people who come here enjoy this classic setting, the place being full every evening.

It's a very classy Spanish affair, with fantastic refined Basque food, using great fresh produce like:

Carpaccio

Foie gras

Lubina (sea bass)

Merluza (hake)

Rodaballo (turbot)

Navaja (razor shell clams)

Ternera lechal en costra de pimienta rosa (veal with pink pepper crust)

Solomillo de cordero con glaseado de miel y sesamo (fillet of lamb with honey and sesame glaze)

With excellent wines (top reds, like Rioja, some of which come from the Basque Country, Priorat, Ribero del Duero and whites from Galicia, etc).

The location is a wonderful private country house and for those special moments you can sit outside in the romantic terrace garden in the cool (hopefully) Ibicenco air.

It is expensive, a starter can cost 25€, main course 40€ and lobster is 150€ a kilo, baring in mind a good sized lobster is 2 kilo you may need your credit card with you!

Quite a few locals think this restaurant is as good as it gets on Ibiza, they could be right.

Meal 100€ plus pp if drinking good wine.

There is plenty of parking available at the side of the restaurant.

Carretera Eivissa, Santa Gertrudis de Fruitera km 2.3 (right hand side from Eivissa), Ibiza
