A DAY & NIGHT OF FOOD & ADVENTURE IN IBIZA WITH RENOIR GUIDES TOUR 3
You will be taken to a link for further information if you click on the people or places highlighted in RED . It was a perfect day. Bernadette and I drove to the ferry and boarded an 8 am boat to Ibiza. We landed at the old familiar dock and went down the street to Mar y Sol Café. Since opening in the twenties, this has been the spot to grab a good coffee and breakfast, watch people, and meet people. "Meet you at Mar y Sol" is the standard reply for a discreet or otherwise

A DAY & NIGHT OF FOOD & ADVENTURE IN IBIZA WITH RENOIR GUIDES TOUR 2
After meeting Jonathon Lipsin and Bernadette Mundy on Facebook through our shared love of Ibiza, Formentera, and music, I invited them to Ibiza each year for a day-long tour of the Island, with food, fun, and frolics. This was to be our second trip. After their short sea trip from Formentera, we met at our usual meeting place outside the Café Mar y Sol in Ibiza Town. This time, my friends from London, Danny and Pankaj, joined us. Once settled in our hire car, I gave them a

IBIZA - SANT ANTONI DE PORTMANY - ES VENTALL - 3
RESTAURANTE ES VENTA LL Michelin Plate IIO We returned to one of our favourite places in Sant Antoni de Portmany (San Antonio): Es Ventall. The restaurant has been open for over 35 years. Since 2005, when the younger José Miguel Bonet took over, the traditional dishes have been given a much more inventive twist. However, they still include many of the Island's favourites. These include rice dishes, such as paella, fideuá, arroz a banda, bullit de peix, and fish and seafood

IBIZA - SANT ANTONI DE PORTMANY - HOSTAL LA TORRE
HOSTAL LA TORRE If you are looking for a great, chilled place to stay outside the hustle and bustle of Sant Antoni, head to Hostal La Torre. Luscious gardens The terrace provides a stunning panoramic view of the beautiful surrounding area. It has a nice courtyard garden area to the rear and a lovely Restaurant with a won

LA RELIGIOSA VERMUTERÍA Permanently closed 1/8/2024? This is the first vermuteria in Sant Antoni, the only other one in Ibiza is in Eivissa (Ibiza Town). They have around 20 different brands of vermut (vermouth), as well as wines, beers, etc. When we went in late September 2023, they had been open for around two months. Once settled in, we studied the menu. And started with two Spanish conservas (tinned seafood). They were on the other page! Berberechos Espinale (tin

IBIZA - SANT ANTONI DE PORTMANY - ES REBOST DE CAN PRATS - POST 1
ES REBOST DE CAN PRATS This is our second look at traditional Ibicencan cuisine in Sant Antoni de Portmany (San Antonio). Located in a house built in the early years of the 20th century, it was one of the first shops in Sant Antoni. It sold food like chickens, eggs, cheeses, pebrassos, rabbits, vegetables, potatoes, and other products necessary for everyday life. When they opened in 1994, in the home of the current owners' grandparents, who had been in the family for more th

IBIZA - SANT ANTONI DE PORTMANY - RESTAURANTE CALA SALADA
RESTAURANTE CALA SALADA We have often been to this family-run beach Restaurant in a secluded bay. It is down a steep road. Parking is available halfway down, and a local bus service stops near the bottom of the road. The bus is the easiest and least exhausting way to get there. We turned up without a reservation on this occasion and were fortunate to be given a table inside. Once settled in, we had this excellent lunch, starting with ensalada casa (house salad) and a few beer
