PREVIOUS VISITS
From Sant Antoni de Portmany (San Antonio) follow the signs down to Cala Gració. Around 100 meters before you get there you will see a sign on the right for El Chiringuito. Drive down this narrow-walled road and you will find a small car park at the bottom.
The car park is just above Cala Gracioneta which is a Sublime little, secluded sandy beach.
El Chiringuito is placed at the back of this lovely little beach with great views from its terrace out over the beach onto the sea.
You can while away a great day here feasting on the food, which is mainly Ibicencan fish and seafood. Quite often you will see a dingy from a yacht moored in the bay come in to pick up a paella.
Calamares al Andaluza (squid fried in a light batter Andalusia style)
Patatas fritas (potato fries)
Pimientos de padrón (padron peppers)
Costillas de cerdo (pork ribs)
Gambas con chile y ajo (large prawns with chilli and garlic)
Atún braseado (seared tuna)
Various rice dishes including Paella Arroz Negro (rice with squid and squid ink)
There is a large selection of desserts and a good wine list. The cava sangria also goes down well!
The food is not cheap, but you are also paying for the venue and ambiance. It gets very busy in peak times so you can wait a while to be served by the friendly staff.
Terrace Bar.
There are white day beds for hire on the small beach and a few placed around the surrounding low cliffs
The beach itself is very child-friendly. Competent swimmers can swim around to the cove on the left to Cala Gració, which is a bigger version of Cala Gracioneta. (aerial view from the 1960s)
The sea is atmospherically candle-lit at night with live tango and gypsy flamenco music at the weekend to listen, and dance to.
It is also an excellent wedding venue so book in advance, especially in July and August to avoid turning up and finding it closed for a private event or fully booked.
