MADRID - RESTAURANTE DSTAgE
RESTAURANTE DSTAgE Two Michelin Stars This was our first visit to this two-star Michelin restaurant, which is superbly run by chef Diego Guerrero, who combines the ingredients and flavours of Spain, Mexico and Jap an to create a st unning effect. The restaurant is on a side street off the main area and is set in a modern, minimalist style, with exposed brick walls and straight, clean lines. We chose the 15-dish menu at €165 per person. To start, we had, Un product, un Pl

ANDALUCÍA - MÁLAGA - MARBELLA - VERMÚ MARBELLA
VERMÚ MARBELLA In the Kitchen, you have Tatiana Bautista, with guidance from Michelin-starred chef Jaume Puigdengolas Rey, who worked at Abac and Hoffman in Barcelona, as well as at Atlantis The Palm in Dubai and Skina in Marbella. On this lunchtime visit, we had Anchoas Cantabria (Cantabrian anchovies). Berberechos de la casa. (house style cockles). Cebolletas a la brasa y en tempura con romesco. Mini calçots (a type of giant spring onion/leek) grilled and fried in tempura

ANDALUCÍA - MÁLAGA - MARBELLA - LOBITO DE MAR
LOBITO DE MAR Michelin Plate IIO This beachless chiringuito on the N-340, on the outskirts of Marbella, is less expensive than Dani García’s other ventures; nevertheless, it still offers superb quality. It’s a very hip, modern and inviting restaurant with a vibrant atmosphere. On arrival, the fish in the display cabinet looked very fresh. I liked that they have made space for a tapas chillout section. We had a few tapas to start. Tapa de gazpacho. Tapa gambas blanco (w

ANDALUCÍA - SEVILLA - RESTAURANTE ABANTAL
RESTAURANT ABANTAL One Michelin Star Abantal was opened by chef Julio Fernández Quintero in 2004. After training at the Taberna del Alabardero in Sevilla and a spell in Washington, D.C., in the USA, Julio returned to Sevilla and opened Abantal. The restaurant was awarded a Michelin Star in 2009 and has held it ever since. It is currently the only restaurant in Sevilla that has that distinction. They only have two set menus, One for €100 and one for €80, with a wine pairing

ANDALUCÍA - SEVILLA - A VISIT TO A FEW TRADITIONAL TAPAS BARS IN THE TRIANA DISTRICT
Hotel Alfonso XIII Hotel Alfonso XIII After leaving our fabulous hotel, the Alfonso XIII, we crossed the Canal de Alfonso XIII via the Puente de San Telmo to the Triana district, where we visited several traditional tapas bars. ANDALUCÍA - SEVILLA - RESTAURANT CAÑABOTA - POST 1
RESTAURANT CAÑABOTA One Michelin Star Recently awarded one Michelin Star in the 2022 Michelin Guide, it is only Sevilla’s second. If you are looking for fish, this is the place to go to in Sevilla. This is a restaurant specialising in fish and seafood, offering both the informal ambience of a tapas bar and the bright appeal of an open-view sushi bar. The superb display cabinet of fish and its charcoal grill are the star attractions. We returned to the restaurant in October

LONDON - SOHO - EMBER YARD
EMBER YARD During a visit in September 2021, the food was not as good as in previous visits, and in a couple of cases, it was even poor, which was disappointing. In 2025, Chef Ricardo Sapimental updated the menu, and we believe it is now back to its best, although we haven’t been there again yet. This review is from 2019 Located in the ever-busy Soho, Ember Yard serves up excellent Spanish / Italian tapas cooked over Basque charcoal grill (embers, get it?) from the people beh

MADRID - RESTAURANTE TRICICLO
RESTAURANTE TRICICLO Michelin Bib Gourmand The restaurant's name fits like a glove, as the “tricycle” is a very accurate metaphor for the three young chefs running the show here. One worked in the original DiverXO restaurant in the Madrid district of Tetuán; one was always a chef, and the other was a cyclist and poet. The simple décor combines the height of rusticity with an endearing bistro charm. This simplicity is offset by a high degree of culinary expertise, showcas

CANARY ISLANDS - TENERIFE - RESTAURANTE EL CHAMO
RESTAURANTE EL CHAMO On our arrival at Tenerife South Airport, we picked up our hire car and headed to the sleepy town of La Escalona for lunch at Restaurante El Chamo, our first meal on the Island this trip. This family Restaurant is an excellent representative of typical traditional Canarian cuisine, specialising in a wide variety of wood-grilled meats, including lamb, goat, suckling pig, steak, and rabbit (which is served with salmorejo sauce), If it's sunny, you can enj
