BASQUE COUNTRYSIDE - BAR RESTAURANT TOKI-ALAI
BAR RESTAURANT TOKI-ALAI October 2016
Heading east along the coast road from Mundaka, you will find this lovely restaurant,
which is situated on a beautiful little surfers beach.
It is a fair sized stone restaurant/bar, with one wall of glass looking out onto the beach with a fantastic view, it is a great spot for a nice relaxing lunch, trying a few delicious pintxos at the bar, or having a more leisurely meal in the evening.
There is a very good menu del dia for €20, which consists of 2 starters, 2 mains, dessert, bread and wine.
Estofado de chorizo y frijoles (chorizo & bean stew)
Pimientos rellenos de marisco y ensalada (peppers stuffed with seafood and salad)
Calamares rellenos cocinados en su propia tinta con arroz (stuffed squid cooked in it's own ink with rice)
Various grilled fish served with boiled potatoes
Lubina (sea bass)
It can get busy in the peak months, but the food is very good and the service is friendly. It is a great place to while away a few hours with a glass of Basque Txakoli or Verdejo from Rueda and take in the atmospheric beach action, watching the trendy surfers ride the waves.
