BAR RESTAURANT TOKI-ALAI

Heading east along the coast road from Mundaka, you will find this lovely Restaurant,

which is situated on a beautiful little surfers' beach.

It is a reasonably large stone Restaurant/bar. One glass wall provides a fantastic view of the beach. It is an excellent spot for a nice, relaxing lunch, trying a few delicious pintxos at the bar, or having a more leisurely meal in the evening.

There is a very good menu del dia for €25 (weekdays) and €30 (weekends). It consists of two starters, mains, dessert, bread, and wine.

Estofado de chorizo y frijoles (chorizo & bean stew)

Pimientos rellenos de marisco y ensalada (peppers stuffed with seafood and salad)

Calamares rellenos cocinados en su propia tinta con arroz (stuffed squid cooked in its own ink with rice)

Various grilled fish served with boiled potatoes

Rape (monkfish)

Lubina (sea bass)

Merluza (hake)

Lenguado (sole)

It can get busy in the peak months, but the food is delicious, and the service is friendly. It is a great place to spend a few hours away with a glass of Basque Txakoli or Verdejo from Rueda and enjoy the atmospheric beach action, watching the trendy surfers ride the waves.
