CERVECERIA CATALANA Michelin Plate IIO

A return to this restaurant in April 2022 for a few tapas when Covid-19 restrictions were still in place.

All tables were spaced out, and the bar area had plastic shields.

Anchoas escalivar.

The restaurant was not as busy as on previous visits, which is understandable given the COVID-19 restrictions.

A previous visit in more convivial times.
This is an excellent spot for tapas at the bar or a full-blown meal in the restaurant. There's nearly always a queue, which confirms the quality of the food. The above picture was taken at almost 2 am.
The food here should satisfy all gourmet requirements, thanks to the opulence and variety of its menu.
Also, it is open later than most bars. I believe orders are taken until 1:30 am, so it's good to know if you fancy a late bite.

We arrived at midnight on a Tuesday to find the bar area still packed to the rafters. After 10 minutes, we found a seat at the bar on the left of the entrance and began ordering. All the tapas here are cooked to order.

We had,
Pimientos de Padrón (Padrón peppers)

Camember crujte (crunchy camembert)

Patatas bravas with alioli (fried potatoes with spicy bravas sauce and garlic mayonnaise)

Surtido cremosa de setas (creamy assortment of mushrooms)

Navajas (razor clams)

Kebab de gambas (prawn kebab)

Solomillo con pimiento de Padrón (sirloin steak with a Padrón pepper)

Solomillo con foie (sirloin steak with foie gras)

The buzzy atmosphere was great at that time of night, although it was after a Barcelona football match. It is a good place for a drink and a few tapas after the game. The service was quick, friendly, and unhurried, considering how busy it was that night.
To drink, we had six glasses of the house verdejo at €3.10, and the bill for three people came to a reasonable €66.10.
