O SOLAR DOS LEITOES

This hidden restaurant is situated on the outskirts of Monsanto and offers delicious traditional Portuguese cuisine, including some of the best grilled fish in Lisbon.

This family business has been operating for three generations and is situated in a remote, rundown residential area in Buraca. It is not easy to find and is definitely off the tourist track. Even taxis equipped with GPS often have trouble locating it!

Don't let this discourage you. You will be dropped off at the bottom of a narrow street, and you will walk up. The restaurant is located at the top on the right.

At the entrance, there is a lovely terrace and two excellent rooms inside. Since our last visit, a roof has been added to the grill area.room.

Chef Pedro now manages the establishment; he took over the grill from his father, who remains involved. The fish is always fresh and cooked using his distinctive method.

As you peruse the menu, you will find cheese, jamón, and olives on your table to enjoy.

For the best fresh fish in Lisbon, try the wild catch. Chef Pedro Leitão excels in ingredient quality and exceptional grilling skills.

Dourada (gilthead bream €47 per kilo)

Linguado (sole €50 per kilo)

Rodovalho (turbot €50 per kilo)

The menu includes beef steak and black pig pork loin. The restaurant's name, which translates to “The Manor of Piglets,” comes from the family name and does not reflect the dishes available. It’s important to note that the house speciality is suckling pig or suckling kid (lamb), both of which must be ordered in advance.

Most people come for the fish.
