IBIZA - SANTA EULÁRIA DES RIU - RESTAURANTE NIU BLAU
RESTAURANTE NIU BLAU
We returned to Restaurante Niu Blau, which is one of Ibiza’s long-established traditional beach restaurants.

Located directly on Es Niu Blau beach, between Santa Eulària and Es Canar, it has served customers for more than 40 years.

Unlike many of Ibiza’s newer beach clubs, Niu Blau has retained the feel of a traditional Mediterranean seaside restaurant, specialising in rice dishes, fresh fish and seafood.
Es Niu Blau is a small sandy bay surrounded by pine trees where the Torrent d’Arabí reaches the sea.

The restaurant terrace sits directly on this beach, beside the torrent.

It has retained more of an old-style Ibiza beach-restaurant feel than many of the island’s newer beach clubs.

After settling in, we started with: alcachofas a la plancha con virutas de jamón ibérico (grilled artichokes with shavings of Iberian ham).
Anchoas de Santoña con tomate seco y aceitunas negras (Santona anchovies with sun-dried tomatoes and black olives).

Langostinos en tempura (tempura prawns).

Ensalada mixta (mixed salad with tuna).

Sardinas a la parrilla (grilled sardines).

Lubina a la plancha (grilled sea bass).

Salmón a la parrilla (grilled salmon).

Paella ciega de pescado y marisco

Fish and seafood paella with the seafood already shelled, so there’s no need to peel prawns or remove shells.

After all that food, you will need a walk along the beach or a swim.

You will find lots of happy families, hailing from all corners of the globe, plus plenty of Ibiza locals.

At the opposite end of the beach, you will find a good bar, Soul Good, and a swing for the children.

Platja Niu Blau is surprisingly quiet, meaning you can arrive any time of the day, all summer long!
