IBIZA - SANT JOSEP - CALA MOLÍ - EL SILENCIO
EL SILENCIO IBIZA

We ventured to the beautiful little bay of Cala Moli for lunch at the hidden gem, El Silencio Ibiza. A great spot for food, drinks and a swim.

El Silencio opened at Cala Molí on 16 June 2021, created by French entrepreneur Arnaud Frisch, founder of the famous Silencio nightclub in Paris, which opened in 2011 and was designed by film director David Lynch.
The Ibiza venue occupies the site of the former Cala Molí Beach Club, whose original architecture dated from the 1970s. The Mallorcan architectural studio Moredesign redesigned the premises, using traditional materials to retain old Ibiza's relaxed, bohemian atmosphere.
The original restaurant concept, ToShare, was a collaboration between French chef Jean Imbert and musician Pharrell Williams. El Silencio was conceived as more than a beach restaurant, combining Mediterranean food, cocktails, music and contemporary art in a beautiful setting overlooking Cala Molí.

El Silencio Ibiza is set on a lovely, low-key beach (this picture is from a previous visit).

While the menu seems expensive, most of the dishes are meant for sharing, which lowers your expected spend, thankfully.

We had a couple of excellent bottles of Noam beers. I hadn’t had this Bavarian lager before, but I’d certainly have it again.

The tables are large and wooden, so you may have to share if there are only two of you, but you are not in close proximity, which creates a nice atmosphere and lets you sneak a look at other people’s food coming out.

We started with:
Focaccia casera horneada en horno de barro, con romero y salsa alioli.

Homemade focaccia baked in a clay oven, with rosemary and aioli sauce.

Ensalada César, lechuga romana, salsa César, parmesano, bacon y anchoas (Caesar salad, romaine lettuce, Caesar dressing, Parmesan cheese, bacon and anchovies).

Carpaccio de tomates heritage con almendras.

Heritage tomato carpaccio with almonds.

An extremely suckulent and stunnong pulpo a la gallega, patata, pimentón ahumado, y ajos asados.

Galician-style octopus with potatoes, smoked paprika and roasted garlic.

We were there in early October, so it was not very busy at this time, and they informed us they were closing for the season in a week or so.

The food was delicious, the atmosphere was fantastic, and the service was outstanding.

It’s also a great spot for the sunset.
