GRILL SANT ANTONI

Grill Sant Antoni Ibiza is a traditional restaurant in the old town of Sant Antoni de Portmany, situated opposite the town church. The premises have a long history and were once a popular venue for local weddings and family celebrations.

In 2014, local restaurateur Toni Cardona reopened the restaurant, with chef Ramona Escribano taking charge of the kitchen. The restaurant retained its rustic character, including its large fireplace, while specialising in traditional Ibicencan dishes, tapas, and meats cooked over charcoal or on hot stones.

It’s ideal for meat lovers or anyone wanting a break from seafood. While it’s not the cheapest option, the food is definitely worth the extra cost.

A few dishes include:

Croquetas.

Foie gras.

Pulpo (octopus).

Secreto (a tender cut of Iberian pork).

Paletilla de cordero (lamb shoulder).

Txuletón a la piedra.

T-bone steak, sliced and cooked on a hot Stone.

On this occasion, we had:

Espárragos a la parrilla con ensalada mixta (grilled asparagus with a mixed salad).

Entrecôte con guisantes, tomates y una patata asada (entrecôte steak, served with peas, tomatoes, and a jacket potato).

Solomillo de vaca madurado con guisantes, tomates y una patata asada (matured beef tenderloin, peas, tomatoes, and jacket potato).

To drink, we had a bottle of Josep Grau Viticultor Vésperas Negre 2024, D.O. Montsant (Grenache, Carignan and a small percentage of Syrah) making a very expressive red wine. It offers aromas of ripe red and black fruit, with balsamic, spicy notes.

Tarta de manzana (classic apple tatin tart with vanilla ice cream and cream).

Torrija (a traditional Spanish dessert made with thick slices of bread soaked in sweetened milk infused with cinnamon and citrus peel, dipped in beaten egg, fried until golden and finished with sugar, nuts and nougat ice cream).

We finished with a copa of hierbas on the house.

We recommend booking in advance and reserving a table on the terrace, as the indoor area lacks proper ventilation. With the grill cooking, stone-cooked dishes, and rising fumes, the air can feel heavy at times. Improving airflow would definitely enhance the overall dining experience.

The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was vibrant; arrive early or make a reservation.
