CHIRINGUITO CAN COLOMARET

We took another trip from Sant Antoni to the lovely beach at Cala Nova, north of the Island.

There are a few expensive, trendy restaurants here. The stunning Hotel Bless, at one end of the beach, has a one-Michelin-starred restaurant.

We decided to go to the opposite end of the beach, to Chiringuito Can Colomaret.

This traditional, tiny Cala Nova shack has served the local community with freshly caught fish and seafood for over 20 years.

The family-run business most certainly has no frills but is consistently busy, and for good reason: the seafood is some of the best on the Island.

Once settled in, we started with the ubiquitous pan con alioli and olives,

and a bottle of Segura Viudas Xarel·lo 2022 (a white wine from Penedès)

Followed by,

Rodaballo (turbot) served with homemade hand-cut chips, which they are famous for. Some people just come for a plate of chips and a beer.

Dorado (gilt-head sea bream) with mixed salad.

As you can see, it was excellent.

After lunch, we had a dip in the warm Balearic sea.

I have heard they can have stroppy service, but I did not find that to be the case on this occasion.
