CHIRINGUITO CAN COLOMARET

We took another trip from Sant Antoni to the beautiful beach at Cala Nova, located in the northern part of the island.

There are several expensive, trendy restaurants situated along the long sandy beach. The stunning Hotel Bless, located at one end of the beach, features a one-Michelin-starred restaurant.

We decided to go to the opposite end of the beach, to Chiringuito Can Colomaret. Please be aware that they only accept CASH, no credit or debit cards.

This traditional, small shack in Cala Nova has served the local community fresh fish and seafood for over 20 years.

The family-owned business lacks frills, yet remains busy for good reason: the seafood is among the best on the Island. Once settled in, we started with the classic pan con alioli and olives.

and a bottle of Segura Viudas Xarel·lo 2022 (a white wine from Penedès)

Rodaballo (turbot) is served with homemade hand-cut chips, for which the restaurant is famous. Some people have been known to come just for a plate of chips and a beer.

The dorado (gilt-head sea bream) came served with a fresh mixed salad.

It was outstanding, as you can see.

After lunch, we took a refreshing and much needed swim in the warm waters of the Balearic Sea.

I have heard they can have stroppy service, but I did not find that to be the case on this occasion.

The Chiringuito is taken down in October, and reappears sometime in May the next year.

Please be aware that they only accept CASH, no credit or debit cards.
