BAR SPORT We returned to Bar Sport, which remains somewhat of an insider tip.

True to its name, it is particularly popular during sports events, but it offers some beautifully assembled pintxos throughout the week.

This authentic bar serves traditional pintxos in a vibrant atmosphere and impresses further with its more than reasonable prices. Popular with locals, it offers a rustic interior and represents a traditional Basque dining experience, perfected by its good selection of wines and vermut reservas.

Try hot pintos like solomillo or foie gras.

A racion de chiperon (baby squid).

or a pintxo.

Gamba Gabardina (deep-fried prawns in a light tempura-style batter).

Mini hamburguesa de txuleta.

Mini t-bone steak hamburgers with fries.

Patatas bravas.

Tarta de queso casera (homemade cheesecake).

Red wine, the slightly sparkling Basque txakoli, the drink of choice, and the vermut.

It is a great spot to mingle, meet like-minded people, and share a drink and information with them.

A previous visit is shown below.

Carrilleras de ternera (beef cheeks).

Plenty of cold pintxos on the bar, like the cangrejo vestido (dressed crab),

But we prefer the hot, made-to-order ones.

Bar Sport is open a little later than most bars.
