Eastbourne hotels could learn much from Hotel Niza. It boasts the desirable seafront location and the classic facade that every charming hotel needs.

The bedrooms are bright, spacious, and stylish in a classic way.

The front rooms offer views of the promenade and the beautiful Playa de la Concha.

The view to the right takes you to parte vieja (old town) and the harbour.

It is a beautiful place to sit and watch the world pass by while enjoying a glass of Basque wine.

Please note that the ocean view rooms do not have air conditioning, as it is believed that the ocean breeze will suffice. This is generally acceptable in San Sebastián; however, it can become quite hot and stuffy during the peak of summer.

The common areas are very stylish.

The bar and breakfast room has a view of the sea. In the morning, it serves a good breakfast buffet with a variety of protein options. While breakfast is an additional charge, you can choose whatever you like, making it a great value compared to nearby options. Later in the day, the bar offers pintxos.

The ornate, hand-operated lift functioned perfectly.

The hotel is close to the parte viejo (old town), the centro (new town), and the harbour.

As you stroll through the streets at night, you are spoiled for choice with a variety of pintxos and top-rated restaurants.

You can enjoy dinner at Restaurante Narru, located beneath the hotel. It is highly rated and offers excellent service.

I also recommend exploring some beautiful trails and viewpoints near the hotel. I can't imagine a better place to stay in San Sebastián for anyone seeking a perfect location in a charming, small hotel with excellent staff. They are fluent in English, Spanish, French, and Basque, among possibly other languages.
