EL TIBURÓN
El Tiburón (The Shark) is the perfect feet-in-the-sand beach restaurant. It is located on the beach at Es Cavall d’en Borrás, Es Pujols, in the Parque Natural de Ses Salines, a ten-minute taxi ride from the port of La Savina.
It has a very laid-back atmosphere, serving excellent food and drinks, chill-out music in the background, and good service from friendly staff who are there year-round.
Try the “house special” gambas Tiburón picante con arroz (chilli prawns with boiled rice).
Chuletas de cordero a la plancha (grilled lamb cutlets). Portions are significant, as you can see from the eight cutlets here!
Plus excellent desserts
As expected for Formentera, the restaurant is not cheap, but it offers a well-priced, excellent wine and cocktail list, with a Mojito at €20. Most mains are around €30
Everyone seems to arrive by boat or yacht moored in the bay, where they get a courtesy boat to the shore and the restaurant.
This must also be one of the best places to enjoy the sunset in Formentera, looking across to Ibiza in a chic, relaxed vibe. (Photo @PepLahozPhotography)
Free open wifi is also a nice touch.
It is always best to reserve a table as the restaurant is not very big and gets busy.
