CASA MONTAÑA

A delightful old tapas bar and bodega in the El Canyamelar fishing neighbourhood of València, down by the port area, which has been serving locals since 1836.

They have left the interior and structure of that period intact, keeping original barrels behind the bar. 

Aside from the bar area, there is a restaurant behind, which can be accessed by dipping under the bar counter. This must be booked in advanced and the menu is slightly more elaborate. 

For the less athletic you may access the restaurant from the side street outside.

ALQUERÍA EL BROSQUIL

This restaurant is a bit out of the way. You will have to go down an old farm road off of the highway and then turn onto a gravel road that takes you to a car park, inside a beautiful orange grove. 

It is a bit like a farmhouse in the middle of a town and only 15 minutes from the city centre. 

You can have drinks outside on the terrace and take in a bit of the sun, before taking your seats inside.

There is a fun board where you can pop your heads through and take pictures of yourselves as paella chefs.

RESTAURANTE CASA SALVADOR

We recently returned to Casa Salvador to find, it is as good as ever.

It is located in the La Albufera rice growing area of Valencia in the estuary of Cullera, which is a freshwater lagoon that flows into the sea.  It is not easy to find.

Make your way over the bridge in Cullera along the back road (CV-605) > right at Via pista > left at Poligon num 28 Estany > right onto Avenida de Estany) If you feel lost don't turn back, it's worth it in the end!

 There are two inside dinning rooms which seat around 200 people.

As the weather is normally very good you may prefer to sit outside...
