A visit in 2016

Heading east along the coast road from Mundaka, you will find this lovely restaurant,

which is situated on a beautiful little surfers beach.

It is a fair sized stone restaurant/bar, with one wall of glass looking out onto the beach with a fantastic view, it is a great spot for a nice relaxing lunch, trying a few delicious pintxos at the bar, or having a more leisurely meal in the evening.  

There is a very good menu del dia for €20, which consists of 2 starters, 2 mains, dessert, bread and wine.

Can Salinas Manuel El Rey de la Fideuà

Wonderful Valencian style paella and fideuà are served at this family run restaurant away from the busy summer crowds of Ibiza on the way to ses Salinas beach and its famous chiringuitos like Sa Trinxa and Jockey Club.

We arrived from Bilbao airport and checked into our hotel in Haro, the splendid 

Calle San Agustín 2, 26200 Haro, La Rioja

Founded as a convent in 1373 the building has been through various guises including a
Guarnición Military (Military Garrison) in 1809
Hospital Military (Military hospital) in 1811
Carcel (Prison) in 1839 and
Hotel 1989.

It is a beautiful building, steeped in history.

It includes an amazing glass-roofed courtyard

This now houses the hotel's excellent restaurant, where special one-off dining and wine events are also held.
